The 2011/65 / EU RoHS 2 directive stipulates that the prohibited substances used by the European Union in the production of electrical and electronic equipment should not be used. The use of these substances is prohibited to protect human health and the environment.

The prohibited substances and the weight limitations mentioned in this Directive are as follows:

Cadmium(Cd): 0.01%

Mercury: 0.1%

Lead(Pb) : 0.1%

Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+): 0.1%

Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): 0.1 %

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE): 0.1 %

Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): 0.1%

Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP): 0.1%

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): 0.1%

Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP): 0.1% 

Electric electronic goods (EEE) categories are as follows:

Large household appliances.

Small household appliances.

IT & Telecommunications equipment (although infrastructure equipment is exempt in some countries)

Consumer equipment.

Lighting equipment—including light bulbs.

Electronic and electrical tools.

Toys, leisure, and sports equipment.

Medical devices 

Monitoring and control instruments 

Automatic dispensers.

Semiconductor devices
